 FROM IHU SOUTHERN AND NORTHERN REGIONS

1. Replace Rule 57(a) to read: No bird shall be eligible to compete in any race or show held under the jurisdiction of the Irish Homing Pigeon Union unless wearing an intact and unaltered ring sold by the Irish Homing Union with the initials “IHU” or any other recognised Union ring.

2. Replace rule 57(b): All birds must be registered in or have been transferred into the name of the competitor and be the bona-fide property of the member at the time of entry to compete in any race or show held under Union rules. A member may be suspended from union membership if they train, race or show a pigeon of which they are not the registered owner. Pigeon will be disqualified and any award or prize shall be forfeit.

3. Replace rule 57(d): Anyone presenting a bird for competition or claims to have won a prize with a bird found to be wearing a counterfeit union or ETS ring shall be suspended with immediate effect while the matter is investigated. Should the member/s be found guilty following this investigation they will be suspended for 60 years.

4. New rule 115(d): No individual, organisation, region or council shall be held liable for expenses incurred by any party to an objection or an appeal held under IHU rules.

5. New rule 85(b): The Region committee may offer a reward or hire private investigators to confirm if complaints from Baldonnel Aerodrome or the Irish Aviation Authority show that rule 85 is being breached.

6. New rule 6(c): Should the membership of an affiliated society fall below 5 full subscribing members after this rule is passed, the Region committee may withdraw affiliation of the society.

7. New rule 87(c): When the Owner of a stray has made contact with the finder, the owner has 7 days from this date in which to arrange collection of the bird.

8. New rule 88(d): In the event that the registered owner of a stray pigeon cannot be traced after investigation by the region, the ring on the pigeon shall be transferred to the finder if requested.

 

Only delegates mandated by their club can vote.

RESULT FROM DALE / BUDE 

Hi IHU members as we approach the last few race's for the old bird season I'd like to tell you that as the NIPA are transporting both the East Down Combine and Ulster Federation birds it's been decided that a Diploma for 1st Open will awarded to the bird with the highest velocity between both organisations. 156 members sent 2534 to Dale This week's winner flying in the Ulster Federation where Britannia members P Fairlay & Sons with a velocity of 1482.204 Runner up was East Down Combine members R & J Conlane from Belmont HPS on 1420.635.

The next race on the EDC / UF calendar was from Bude with the 118 members sending 1413 birds and a close race it was. This weeks winners were Ulster Federation members flying in the West Belfast club  Stockman & Robinson on 1376.31ypm runner up was East Down Combine members of J & R young flying 1375.31 ypm.
